We are pleased to say that the OIKODOM 2 building project is close to completion and we are holding a Celebration & Commissioning event at 10.00am on Saturday 25 June to give thanks to God for the completion of the project, to rejoice together for this refurbished space, and to thank everyone who has been involved in bringing the project from its planning to completion.

Click here for details of the project.

We are very grateful for the financial support we have received from:

Allchurches Trust
Amey plc
Bernard Sunley Foundation
Congregational & General Charitable Trust
FCC Communities Foundation
Garfield Weston
The Norwood and Newton Settlement
Village Hall Improvement Grant Fund
As well as the generous donations from the church family.

Part of the building project was the refurbishment of the Worship Area, our large hall. As anyone who has spent time in the Worship Area on a rainy day would have told you, it was high time the leaky roof was sorted out. And with poor heating and virtually non-existent insulation it was not the most welcoming of places. In fact there was quite a bit to sort out.

Here is a little more information of what has been done:

  • Small extension with new entrance doors to the Worship Area
  • Extensive insulation throughout – external and internal, roof and walls
  • New, efficient heating and air conditioning
  • New lighting
  • Hire-friendly sound system
  • New ceilings
  • Blocking up windows on the western side, replacement windows elsewhere
  • Acoustic panels
  • New seating and furniture
  • New floor coverings
  • New plumbed-in baptismal tank
  • New store to the south of the church building, adjoining Resources Room
  • Redecoration throughout the Worship Area and Resource Room
  • New internal doors

Watch our video and see what it was all about. If you would like to know more about our project, please email the office or ring on 01480 458565

The Prayer Room reopens from Wednesday 2 December.

This time of year is often a time for reconnecting with God, family and friends. It is a time of Christmas lists and wishes. It is a time for thinking of charities and needs around the world. In December and January our prayer room theme is ASK. Why not visit and express your prayers to God in a different way on any of our three Walls?

You can book a one hour slot via the church office on 01480 458565 or by emailing office@godmanchesterbaptist.org, so no need to worry about possibly having to wait outside!  Suggest a time and we’ll let you know if it’s possible.

Although Littlefoot continues to be closed because of the current restrictions, the Toy Library is open from 9.00-10.00am on Wednesday 2, 9 and 16 December. It will reopen after Christmas on Wednesday 6 January. Go to the Littlefoot facebook page for more details. Booking essential.

To book, click here. Price (£10 + booking fee) is per car, not per person.

Everyone loves a carol concert. This year we are doing things differently. Come with your family and enjoy a “Drive-in” carol concert all from the safety of your own car at Huntingdon Racecourse.

You will be able to view the event on a big screen and listen to it through the FM frequency on the radio in your own vehicle.

With a mix of traditional carols and more modern songs and a reminder on why we celebrate Christmas.

The event will run twice on Saturday 19 December at Huntingdon Racecourse, with a performance at 4.00pm and a repeated performance at 8.00pm.

Arrivals on site will be staggered so please book for one of the two arrival times for the performance you are attending. Stewards will guide you to park your car in such a way that it ensures that everyone can see the screen. This will be done in a Covid secure way.

There will be a hot drinks available that can be ordered and served to your car taking into account current Covid restrictions.
