Congregations

GBC is made up of congregations and cells or teams. More on cells. “Church” is those people who chose to say “this is my church”. People either have a sense of belonging to a congregation, cell or team, or associating with us other ways.

We have four quite distinct congregations which worship in relevant and different ways.

Sunday mornings at 10.30am

Our largest congregation meets at 10.30 am on Sunday morning. GBC is a family of all ages and backgrounds and our worship reflects that variety.  For details of services over the coming few months, see Service Details.

Services are usually led by one of our worship groups and one of our pastors. We begin with the whole congregation together and then we cater for children and young people in their own Re:Forge groups.

Sunday afternoons at 4pm

In 2009 we began a series of "Songs of Praise" services which include the best of traditional hymns and songs together with a clear relevant message and tea and cake afterwards. From September 2009, our Songs of Praise congregation now meets every 3rd Sunday.

Sunday evenings at 7pm

We have a wide variety of styles of evening services.  We may follow a short preaching series – currently on ‘Vital Prophecy’ and from January 2010 on ‘The roots of righteousness’, or have cafe style services focussed on discussion.

Once a month our evening communion service includes specific opportunities for prayer for spiritual, emotional and physical healing.  Songs of Praise replaces this service on the 3rd Sunday.
