At GBC we are passionate about being a community of people who are committed to loving God, loving each other and making disciples in our community.

We believe in the authority of the Bible and the importance of teaching its truth in ways that communicate in today’s world. We are open to the ministry and gifts of the Holy Spirit and know the need to be filled with the Spirit constantly to live a life that is pleasing to Jesus Christ. Our doctrine and theology are well represented by the Evangelical Alliance’s Basis of Faith.

We are a large church family of all ages and from diverse backgrounds. As a multi-congregational church we are able to provide and enjoy a variety of opportunities for worship. Our largest congregation meets at 10.30am on a Sunday morning for our Sunday Celebration service where we worship all together for the first 20 minutes or so and then our children and young people go out to their groups. Our other congregations, for families, youth, young adults, and (mostly) seniors, meet at different times and sometimes in different places.

We have a strong pastoral care framework at GBC which supports our intention to make sure that everyone is connected and cared for.

We aim to offer everyone, whatever their age or their stage in their faith journey, opportunities for discipleship so that all of us continue to grow in our spiritual journey. We call this mixture of studies, courses, discussion groups and small groups, our Toolbox collection – so that people can choose the right option for themselves.

Because we worship in a variety of congregations and therefore don’t all see each other frequently, we like to offer regular opportunities for everyone to meet up and have fun together and to get to know people from across the whole church family and beyond. We call this our Together programme.

Our regular activities throughout the week at GBC also reflect the diversity of our church family and community – you can read all about them in our Annual Review.

Charitable status and Governance
GBC is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) – charity number: 1188171. Our Leadership Team are our trustees and they lead the church both spiritually and in matters of governance. Important decisions are made at church members’ meetings. Our governing documents are here.

Finance
Most of our income comes through regular giving and some occasional one-off donations from our church members and friends. We also have some income from hiring out our premises to individuals and groups. Click here for our Standing Order form and Gift Aid form.

Finding us
Parking around our church centre in East Chadley Lane can be challenging! To make things as easy as possible we have a guide to finding us and the best places to park [click here]. We have also recently been gifted another site – The Beacon Centre, 22 Ermine Street, Little Stukeley, PE28 4BE.

Accessibility
We have reserved parking spaces near the entrance. There are accessible toilets available with side transfer facility and rails. The worship area and the small hall have hearing loop systems.

Wider connections
We value our good relationships with other local churches. We are also members of the Eastern Baptist Association, Baptist Union of Great Britain and the Evangelical Alliance.
