Opportunities to Serve at Godmanchester Baptist Church
At GBC we have a number of different congregations and many events and activities throughout the week. We are so thankful to everyone who helps in any way in the running of all of these events. There are opportunities on Sundays and throughout the week, with some being on a rota basis, some weekly, and some on an ‘as and when’ basis.
Current Vacancies
Baby Room Host
Sunday morning, 10.00am-midday, rota basis, at East Chadley Lane
Set up room with toys, furniture and refreshments
Check parents have what they need and be a listening ear
Car Park Attendant
Sunday morning, 9.30am-11.00am, rota basis, at East Chadley Lane
Also need people for occasional special events
Open school car park
Put out and put away ‘A’ frame signage
Monitor and direct parking
If possible, lock up school car park at 1.00pm (but this is negotiable)
Duty Steward
Sunday morning, 9.00am-1.00pm, rota basis, at East Chadley Lane
(Also need people for occasional special events)
Open up and Lock up
Set out and put away chairs in Worship Area
Oversee safety of all on premises
Fundraising Researcher
As and when needed – can be done from home
Follow up and research possible grant making organisations
Practical Care
Be on a list of people to call on to:
– Provide cakes or meals for those in need
– Do shopping
Tuesday Treat Set Up
Tuesday morning, 8.30am-9.30am, each week or join a team/rota, at East Chadley Lane
Set up chairs and tables in the Small Hall
Tuesday Extra Set Up
Tuesday morning, 9.00am-9.30am, monthly, at East Chadley Lane
Set out chairs in the Worship Area
Gardening and Grounds Maintenance
As and when needed, at East Chadley Lane and/or The Beacon Centre
Keeping the weeds under control, cutting grass, watering plants
