If you would like someone to pray for you or with you over the telephone, please contact our church office.
We value prayer
- We deeply value the power and significance of Christian prayer, recognising it as a profound expression of faith, hope, and love.
Through prayer, we as individuals and as a community of God’s people seek guidance, strength, and a deeper connection with God, fostering unity and compassion in service to others.
Prayer is important
- Prayer is one of the most important aspects of our lives as followers of Jesus, and it should not be taken lightly
- When we pray, it is not so that we can get what we want from God. Rather, prayer is a way to connect with Him and realign our hearts with His.
- Prayer is not something we should only do at church or during Bible study. It’s something we can do every single day. Like any relationship, if we don’t spend time with that person the relationship will suffer. Prayer is a way for us to spend time with God.
- When we pray, we are inviting God into our lives and asking for His guidance.
The Bible contains numerous references to prayer, emphasising its importance in the life of believers. Click here for some key Bible passages on prayer from both the Old and New Testaments.
We encourage all those who attend GBC to consider joining a regular prayer meeting, being part of a prayer pair/triplet as well as praying individually. There are some regular prayer meetings that you are welcome to join and be part of:
