The Mix 2013

The Mix Special Offer: GBC Mugs

Once again, THE MIX will be an amazing time when we will celebrate that God has brought us together as an incredible mixture of people.

For a whole weekend we’ll spend as much time as we can together as a whole church family. We’ll experience some great worship, challenging and inspirational teaching, and discover God in new ways.

Together we’ll have fun and enjoy each other’s company. We’ll make new friends and relax with old ones.

So that as many people as possible can come, we are returning to a local venue: Burleigh Hill Farm at St Ives. Location:

The farm has great camping facilities and you can come and camp or caravan from Friday through to Sunday. Alternatively you can travel up each day.

Our programme will run from 10am to 10pm on Saturday and 9.30am to 4pm on Sunday. This year we will also include something for those camping on the Friday night.

Belonging and Becoming!

clip_image001Our guest speaker this year is David Mayne who is lead pastor and pastor for community, word and worship at Shoeburyness Baptist Church in Essex. David has already made an important contribution to GBC when, a few years ago, he helped our Leadership Team to understand better how to lead a multi-congregation church.

David will focus on our theme of “Belonging and Becoming”.

And the rest…

With so many positive comments about last year’s MIX, we will keep many of the popular items and tweak a few where we had some great suggestions.

We know GBC has talent! We know the food will be outstanding. We know there will be a great programme for our children and young people. And the small increase in cost (balanced by a maximum charge for families and help for those who cannot afford it), means we can improve the site facilities.

The weekend costs just £30 per person including all the activities, refreshments, lunch on both days and dinner on Saturday. There is no charge for under 5’s, and a maximum charge of £100 per family.

You will be very welcome to bring your caravan or tent and camp. Many of us will be doing this. Burleigh Hill Farm has good camping facilities including showers. There is a small extra cost of £5 per unit per night which includes breakfast.

Because we believe this is a very important opportunity to be together, we do not want finance to be a barrier for anyone to attend. If the cost is a problem, therefore, please speak to one of the pastors about it. We’ll do everything we can to help you attend.

Burleigh Hill Farm is easily accessible by road. If you need transport just jot it down on the booking form and we’ll sort it out for you.

There is no small print really. The weekend is our weekend, and we’ll serve each other in making it great. We are not going to a conference centre, so we’ll probably ask you to help out with the odd job or task!
