Gift Aid

Gift Aid Declaration | Standing Order form

Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 25 pence from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), helping your donation go further.

This means that every £100 can be turned into £125, just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine the difference that will make, and it doesn’t cost you a thing.

How do I know if I pay enough tax to qualify?

As long as you pay enough tax in the year to match the tax that we and any other charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs to whom you have Gift Aided claim back, your donation will qualify.

What if I pay the higher rate of income tax?

If you pay tax at the higher or additional rate, we still reclaim tax at the basic rate of tax. If you wish, you can reclaim the remainder on your Self Assessment tax return.

Can I still Gift Aid my donations if I only pay tax on my savings?

Yes. The rules for the tax paid on unearned income such as interest from savings are the same as they are for earned income. You are advised to check that you are paying enough tax on your savings income to gift aid your donations.

Can it be that simple?

Yes, it is! Brett Mickelburgh, our Church Treasurer, and Hazel Bray, our Gift Aid Officer, will need to be able to identify your gifts, either by standing order, cheque or cash in a marked envelope, so that the right amount of tax can be reclaimed. Complete confidentiality is assured.

Just complete the Gift Aid Declaration and return it to our Church Treasurer and do ask Brett or Hazel if you need more information.
