About the Course
Based around the book “Parenting Children for a Life of Faith” by Rachel Turner, this brand new course focuses on helping parents bring their children up in a spiritual environment which helps them connect with God. We’ll do six Core Sessions.

Session 1
Orientating:
Begin to assess how we have shaped our children’s faith. Look at the scriptural call to be the primary spiritual influencers in our children’s lives.

Session 2
Positioning for Influence:
How to empower children’s individual explorations of a relationship with God by two key approaches: strategically positioning our lives so our children can see the reality of a relationship with God, and being proactive in encouraging and resourcing children’s steps towards their own relationship.

Session 3
Tying together Truth and Experience:
Ensuring that children’s experience of God and the world ties in with scriptural truth, and that scriptural truth is being illustrated by experience of God.

Session 4
Unwinding Wrong Views of God:
Look at four common views children have, and empowers parents how to discover their child’s view of God, how we collude with some distorted views, and how to proactively unwind them.

Session 5 and 6
Chat and Catch:
A model of conversational prayer that encourages children to share their lives with God and hear His voice in return. These are practical sessions to help parents experience this in their own faith, as well as coaching their children.
