2017 Church Weekend
The MIX is for everyone. It’s an amazing time when we will celebrate that God has brought us together as an incredible mixture of people.
Whether you are new to GBC or have been here for years, the Mix is for you. There is something for everyone who comes to GBC. There’s a place for you. Don’t miss out!
We’ll experience some great worship, challenging inspirational teaching for every age group, and lots of down time to chat, have fun and “mix”. We’ll meet God in new ways.
Together, we’ll have fun and enjoy each other’s company. We’ll make new friends and relax with old ones.
So that everyone can come, regardless of age, stage of life or circumstances, we are returning to a local venue: Burleigh Hill Farm at St Ives. It has great conference and camping facilities and you can come and camp or caravan from Friday through to Sunday. Alternatively, you can travel up each day.
Our speaker for adults this year is Andy Stone. Andy is the team leader at King’s Centre, Sheffield; part of Network Church – a long established Baptist and Anglican partnership.
Emma Perkins will lead our youth activities. Based at St Paul’s church in Cambridge, she previously toured with a Christian theatre company and worked as a families worker in York.
John Hardwick will lead our children’s programme. John is based locally. He ‘juggles, sings and tells stories for the King!’ We know some of John’s songs from our Holiday Clubs.
And the rest…
With so many positive comments about our last three MIX events, we will keep many of the popular items and add some more! Great food, great programme, great entertainment.
The Mix will run from 7pm on Friday evening, from 9am to 9.30pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. Or come for breakfast at 8am if you like.
With your help, it will be “practically perfect!”
The weekend costs just £40 per person including all the activities, refreshments and meals. There is no charge for under 5’s and a maximum charge of £110 per family.
You will be very welcome to bring your caravan or tent and camp. Burleigh Hill Farm has good camping facilities including showers. There is a small extra site fee as shown on the booking form.
As this is a very important opportunity to be together as a church, we do not want finance to be a barrier for anyone to attend. If the cost is a problem, therefore, please speak to one of the pastors about it. We’ll do everything we can to help you attend.
We will reclaim tax from any optional donation if we have a gift aid declaration from you.
To transfer your fees, please us these bank details: Sort Code: 405240 Account: 00023064 Reference (important) TM17 + your surname
Burleigh Hill Farm is easily accessible by road. If you need transport just put that on the booking form and we’ll arrange free transport for you.
There is no small print really. The weekend is our weekend, and we’ll serve each other in making it great. We are not going to a conference centre, so we’ll probably ask you to help out with the odd job or task.
